CYP Challenge #150

***If you are looking for OWH's Virtual Cardmaking Party, scroll down one post***

It's Monday, which means it's time for Craft You Passion's weekly challenge.  We are on challenge #150.  Wow!  This week's challenge is Use Glitter!  It is sponsored by StampFairy World which generously donated the image "Mimi Stars" for me to use:

In honor of President's Day, I decided to make a patriotic card for heroes overseas.  In case you didn't know, glitter can ruin a soldier's camouflage and make him easy to spot.  That's no good for a card thanking our heroes, so I sealed the glitter with Glossy Accents-ta da! No glitter flake off which means I can send this off to make a soldier smile.

Be sure to join the fun this week at Craft Your Passion.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.

OWH's President's Day Virtual Cardmaking Party!

It's OWH's annual Virtual Cardmaking Party.  (If you just stumbled upon this and want to join in the fun, go HERE.)  Aren't you just having a blast making all these cards?  I love how all these challenges stretch my creativity and force me out of my comfort zone a bit.  Hopefully this next challenge will make you stretch a bit more.  My challenge for you is:

Glitz and Glam Without Glitter

Make a glamorous card that is glitter-safe for our heroes.  Remember, glitter cards can ruin a soldier's camouflage  and we want our heroes to be safe, so NO glitter.  You can use all sorts of other embellishments to get a glitter effect that is still hero safe.  Here's some inspiration for you:

Supplies Used:  Paper-Jillian Bean, Rhinestones-American Crafts, Stamps-The Alley Way Stamps "Awesome Blossom"

Hope that gives you some ideas.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

CYP #149-Valentines

It's time for another Craft Your Passion challenge.  This week's theme is Valentines.  I got a little spunky with my card.  I used the image "teddy bear-love" from our sponsor, Bugaboo.  I just love their cute images.

How are you celebrating Valentine's Day?

MPC Craft with Cutters #120

It's Wednesday, time for My PaperCrafting.com's Crafts with Cutter's challenge.  This week's theme is hearts.  I decided to go CAS on this one with a simple Valentine (or general love-since I gave it to my hubby for his birthday) card.

I used two Cricut Cartridges:  Graphically Speaking for the compass and Gypsy Wanderings for the arrow and heart.  Love how it turned out and it was so easy.  Can't wait to see what you make.

CYP #148-Pastels

Wow!  It's already February.  Which means that my designer position with Craft Your Passion has officially started.  I am so excited to be a part of such a fabulous team.  There is so much talent and inspiration on this design team.  I'm going to learn so much from everyone.

It's a bittersweet beginning at CYP.  It's wonderful to start on a new design team, but sad too.  This week, our sponsor, Jacqui,  owner of The Digi Garden, passed away.  Her store is officially closing, and her beautiful creativity and happy attitude will be greatly missed.  My deepest sympathy for her family and friends at this time.  I hope you find some solace in knowing all the beautiful things Jacqui shared with the crafting community will continue to cheer and brighten people's days.

This week's theme is pastels.  Here's my card, using "buzzy bee" from The Digi Garden.

Supplies:  Image-Digi Garden, Twine-American Crafts, Paper-All My Memories, Rub Ons-Heidi Swapp

It's so cold and snowy here; I couldn't resist this fun frog with his big flower.  This image was perfect for bright spring colors.  You can purchase "Frog n' Flower" from My PaperCrafting World HERE.
